Hey hey hey. So, Igrew tired of Blogger. Yes, again. Ilike the site and all it has to offer, and what have you, but Ifeel like Iapos;m writing to nobody. At least here I know that my entries are put on friend pages of a few different people, so its someone, right? Right. So, Iapos;m back.

Icopy and pasted the posts I made on Blogger here, so you can catch up if you are *that* bored. And Iobviously am, since Idid it, right?Right. There are reviews of all the different shows and concerts that Iapos;ve seen since Ileft LJ (which, if Irecall correctly, would be... Xanadu, Spring Awakening, How Shakespeare Won the West, A Chorus Line, Adam Pascal Live, Rent... And Ithink thatapos;s it. Go look.)

To keep "current", Iapos;ve seen two solo performances that Ineed to review, so Ishall:
Carrie Fisherapos;s Wishful Drinking at the Huntington Theatre Company - what a great time. Carrie Fisher, probably best known for playing Princess Leia, is one hilarious woman. Sheapos;s lived a difficult life (ranging from that hairstyle to addictions, to crazy Hollywood parents, to people dying in her bed... You know, the usual), and sheapos;s not afraid to discuss/mock/laugh about it. Which makes this show hilarious. The first act was basically a narrative of her life up until Star Wars, which was very interesting to me, as she told her various anecdotes in a very engaging way. Act Two was a bit more scattered (which is understandable, as it wasnapos;t a real timeline-sort of thing to tell - it was the story of her mental illnesses). In all, it was a great evening at the theatre, one that made my inner Star Wars-obsessed 6th grader jump for joy.

Carrie Underwood. What can Isay about Carrie Underwood? The girl can SING. Judging by the amount of sustained belting you hear on her album, Iexpected a somewhat vocally tired singer, maybe one taking it a bit easy (which I noticed when Isaw Clay Aiken in concert a few years ago - donapos;t judge). But, um, no. Every song was sung at 150, and there was no loss of sheer power by the end of the concert. It was a real treat for someone that has been vocally trained. And yes, Iknow Isound very geeky by saying that. Whatevs. In short, a HIGHLYenjoyable concert, Ihope to catch her again.

Thatapos;s about all Igot. Iapos;m at work, and this has taken like 2 hours to write anyway, so Iapos;m just going to stop while Iapos;m ahead. Or something like that. Go Sox

Itapos;s sad but the truth keeps me from losing myself in the hellish horrors that construct this society. You fears will eat you alive if you let them, for your strength will separate and sift you like gold in mud. Your heart will entomb you; mercy belongs to no one at no time, affection will demolish your vigor and fester your credence.

"Leave no man behind" be the famous citation of past, "Every man for himself" is the wave of the future.

You know, i think its completely rediculous for people to freak out because a star is out getting a hair cut or something. I mean its something that happens everyday. Let them do what they want and live their life. Its just very rude. I mean do you get angry when people snap a billion shots of you walking down the street? no wonder you see people punching out paparazzi. Just give them their privacy. Jeeze

I caved, and watched the last 45 minutes of the debate - meaning that I missed the first dozen or so "Joe the Plumber" references of the evening. You know, the guy who randomly turned up at an event in Toledo to shake Obamaapos;s hand but instead jumped on his tax policy? Well, itapos;s clear that McCain wants to put Joe on the campaign map. Joe apparently has now been making the media rounds this morning, not disclosing his vote but accusing Obama of being a socialist. I think we know who heapos;s voting for.

Itapos;s perfect for McCain if he wants to get back the shaved-head blue collar white guy vote whose support has been moving Obama. Joe looks like them, and wants to buy a business that would place him exactly at the cutoff point where Obamaapos;s tax proposal shifts - feeding their narrative that Obama wants to raise everyoneapos;s taxes. According to todayapos;s WaPo, "Joe" has turned up on the conservative blog Family Security Matters questioning programs that help the poor, and is clearly THE talking point handed out by the McCain campaign to its minions this morning. Heapos;s perfect for a narrative the campaign desperately wants to sell.

Too perfect?

Noted at the end of the WaPo piece (page A5) is the interesting note that "[the Post] was ... Unable to verify whether [Joe] is a licensed plumber through a search of the database of the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board."
